CMZ has surpassed 3,000 lathes sold of the TA Series. A milestone that confirms the market's trust in this slant bed lathe designed to offer precision, robustness and a long service life in demanding production environments.

The key factors that have established the TA Series in the market

The success of the machine is based on a combination of precision, robustness and productive capacity that meets the real needs of the most demanding manufacturing environments. With more than 20 years on the market, thousands of customers who have chosen to acquire this prismatic bed lathe.

The CMZ TA Series offers high-level technical features:

  • Configuration versatility: offers different bed lengths with travels on the Z Axis of 400, 600 and 1100 mm.
  • Prismatic Bed stabilised, milled and ground in a single set-up at the company's facilities.
  • High-precision mechanical assembly: the entire machine is hand-scraped, improving the stick-slip (static friction).
  • Direct metal-to-metal contact: the slideways do not use Turcite, which helps maintain geometric accuracy and extends the service life of the lathe.
  • Automation: the TA Series is 100% compatible with the GL20 II Gantry Loader, an easy and intuitive solution that simplifies the loading and unloading of both short and long runs.

Integrated spindles and turret to maximise accuracy

All TA Series models incorporate a turret with integrated motor of 75 Nm, 11 kW and 12,000 rpm, oil-cooled. It features three curvic couplings that perform clamping and unclamping without the disc moving. This allows unclamping on withdrawal and clamping on approach. This mechanism provides:

  • Greater thermal stability, minimising temperature-related deviations.
  • Effective tool change times of 0.2 seconds.

Furthermore, the machine is equipped with oil-cooled integrated spindles. They have neither belts nor pulleys, offering improved roundness and surface finish thanks to reduced runout and vibrations. The main advantages of integrated spindles are:

  • Greater accuracy on the C Axis.
  • Reduced machining times.

Greater structural rigidity thanks to the increased distance between the front and rear bearings.

European manufacturing with direct control of the process

The TA Series is the reflection of CMZ's manufacturing philosophy. The company integrates the production of more than 80% of the components of its lathes in its own facilities located in Europe. An operating model that results in machines with a service life of over 20 years.

In addition, by optimising the costs associated with the supply chain, CMZ can allocate more resources to incorporating components from leading manufacturers, offering high-performance machines at a competitive cost.
