It’s official: Neoprec is now supplying the CMZ assembly chain
We're on a roll. The debuts don't stop. Neoprec is now up and running. Our new machining plant with over 8,000 m2 of useful surface area has begun to take its first steps. After the completion a few months ago of the construction works and the assembly of the machinery necessary to start running, Neoprec has started to produce, and therefore supply the assembly line for CMZ lathes. The aim now is to reach a cruising speed so that in 5 years' time we will have reached our target: to deliver over 800 CNC lathes per year.
With no human intervention
The plant has an automated warehouse capable of handling 1,752 pallets. We are currently completing the line of 8 horizontal machining centres aligned in two FMSs situated in front of the warehouse. The metrology room has temperature control to within 0.1 degrees and three 3-dimensional measuring machines. Once the Neoprec plant is fully equipped it will be capable of running for 48 hours without human intervention.
Neoprec starting its operation is one more step in the strategic plan that aims to double our current manufacturing capacity in the next 5 years.
Awaiting new equipment
The arrival of new machines is imminent. Each of the two new 5-axis machining centres will include a cell with its 3-dimensional measuring machine, a washing machine, two robots and an automatic deburring station.
Bit by bit the plant is receiving all of the machinery it needs to carry out its activity at full throttle.
Looking to the future
Neoprec’s construction entailed an investment of 17 million euros. CMZ strives for continuous growth aimed at increasing the company’s production capacities. The first estimates suggest that the target of 800 lathes delivered annually will be reached in a maximum of 5 years.
The reality is that Neoprec is already up and running. In fact, students from the Higher Diploma in Industrial Mechatronics and Mechanical Manufacturing Production Programming visited us a few days ago and had the opportunity to look around our recently opened plant.
