A minute with… Technical Assistance

Now that December is almost here we can describe our technical assistance team as being like the presents you get at Christmas: everyone looks forward to it. They are the visible face for our customers and the voice that answers the call when you phone with a query. In this chapter, we introduce you to some of our TAS team. Find out what it's like to spend a minute with them!

CMZ's Sensei

Not everyone in the department are here in the office, most are out on the road. Our technical assistance department has over 80 people distributed among our six European subsidiaries, ready to get any machine operational. Spain, France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Denmark… No country or border can stop them. At CMZ we are committed to looking after the product and service in house and that is why we have our own team to provide a service wherever our lathes are. Their main duties are to install, commission and provide training for customers, as well a helpline to deal with any incidents and queries.

They are the Sensei for CMZ lathes and all our customers eagerly await them so they can start to operate autonomously and give production the green light. There is no greater satisfaction for the technical assistance team than to see that users are able to use the machine autonomously after their visit. The journey doesn't stop there: we provide ongoing support throughout the life cycle of the machine. To that end we have a specific human team at each of our subsidiaries responsible for providing a free helpline for all customer needs.

No two days are ever the same?

Their day to day is the absolute opposite of routine office work. Practicality is one of their mantras, as they have to deal with the particular characteristics of a huge number of companies in a variety of industrial sectors, each of them a challenge in itself. Ultimately, the members of the technical assistance service are always ready to help customers with their various machining challenges. In addition, our CMZ lathes go everywhere, so the team members are always travelling to different places.

That's why it can be said that no two days are ever the same.
